POlice K9

Offering the premiere K9 training for Law Enforcement and Military, we offer single-purpose and dual-purpose K9s. The areas we train our K9s in are detection, trailing, and apprehension. Also included is our Handler School for new K9 units and a variety of continuing education and recertifications for K9 units. Ragnar Defense will have dogs on-site for agencies to purchase or can help agencies find the right K9 for your agency. We will offer Labradors, German Shepard, and Belgian Malinois all from proven working lines. Agencies also have the ability to request other breeds and we will do our best to accommodate the request.

K9 options

Dual-Purpose

We offer Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds, and mixed-breed canines. Other breeds are available upon request and availability. All dual-purpose canines will be trained in apprehension, detection (narcotics or explosives), and trailing (tracking).

Single-Purpose

We offer a variety of canines for single-purpose canines. Shepherd breeds and Labradors mainly, however, other breeds are available on request and availability. All Single-purpose canines will be trained in detection (narcotics or explosives) and trailing (tracking).

Venom

Venom is a Black Sable German Shepherd.

Venom has a high drive making him great for dual-purpose K9 work. He began the imprinting process for narcotics in Jan 2025.

Carnage/ Red

Carnage (aka Red) is a Black Sable German Shepherd.

Carnage has a high drive making him great for single-purpose K9 work. He began the imprinting process for narcotics in Jan 2025.

Eliza

Eliza is a 1-year-old German Shepherd/ Malinois mix.

Eliza is currently training as a single-purpose canine. She has started her imprinting process, on narcotics

Gizmo

Gizmo is a Black Sable German Shepherd.

Gizmo has a high drive making him great for dual-purpose K9 work. He will begin his imprinting in Jan 2025 when he can be either narcotics or explosives

Prowler

Prowler is a Black Sable German Shepherd.

Prowler has a high drive making him great for dual-purpose K9 work. He began the imprinting process for narcotics in Jan 2025.

Jarvis

Jarvis is a big Golden Retriever.

Jarvis is going to be one of our Single-purpose K9s for our fall Handler School. He will start imprinting on narcotics or explosives in the early spring.

Donation Canine Program

At ragnar Defense we understand the FINANCIAL weight an agency has to go through to start or maintain a Police K9 program. we also understand how critical a k9 team can be to an agency AND the community it serves. that is why we developed our canine donation program. when we can, we offer a FULLY-TRAINED (Single or Dual Purpose) canine to an agency.

Recertification and Continuing Education

While recertification is included in the cost of the canines purchased from us, we do offer recertification courses for other K9 teams.

We offer special continuing education for K9 teams to further their knowledge and tactics. Also, we offer department and special teams courses specifically designed to incorporate the K9 unit.

Ragnar Defense's K9 training and certification exceed the requirements of the certifying body used by your agency. While we train for operational situations, our canines meet the standards of the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA), North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA), National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA), International Police Work Dog Association (IPWDA), and other associations.
