ADA Recognized Service Dog

At Ragnar Defense, we understand the stress and hardship living with a disability can have on an individual and their families. Our approach is to relieve some of that by making a service dog a more obtainable option for those in need. Our service dogs are customized to the disabled individual in need. We speak with each individual and their family to help find the perfect companion that will not only assist in everyday life for the individual but also become a loved family member for a lifetime.

Our service dogs differ from the rest by allowing you to own your service dog upon payment, unlike other agencies and businesses where they maintain ownership. We provide an in-home transition course that provides the disabled individual, caretakers, and family with the knowledge needed in familiar surroundings and helps integrate the service dog into everyday life. We will assist in educating family members, caretakers, and the community about the laws surrounding service dogs.

If you are interested in a service dog, send us an email to start the application process.

In the message section please include if the service dog is for yourself or a loved one. Also, include the basic needs or wants of the service dog and contact information.

Please allow 24 hours for a response.

sERVICE dOG Testimonial

“A little over a year ago I contacted Ragnar Defense about a service dog for my son who suffers from Tourette’s Syndrome, anxiety, depression, and some sensory challenges. During that year, they found and trained an absolutely amazing, well-behaved, and helpful dog named Pancake. Ragnar is easy to work with, and they are very knowledgeable and informative. They listened carefully to our needs and trained Pancake accordingly. Colleen kept us apprised of the progress the whole time, welcomed any and all questions, and encouraged us to visit Pancake regularly. Since Pancake came home, I have seen my son blossom. Pancake is never far from him, giving him confidence and an increased willingness to interact with the world. He told me that he believes that he and Pancake were meant to be together, and he is learning to use her to help him manage his emotions and frustrations. I was thrilled to receive an email from my son’s counselor stating: “He is progressing by leaps and bounds since Pancake came home. I’m seeing an increase in his ability to express emotions and describe his mental and emotional experience as well as a reduction in the Tourette’s symptoms. He is communicating at or above his age group and expressing complex thoughts with confidence.” I am beyond happy with our experience with Ragnar Defense. Their services are worth every penny, and I would not even consider taking any of my dogs anywhere else for training.”

Therapy CANINE

Therapy Canines are dogs that go to places such as schools, assisted living, hospitals, courthouses, and counseling offices. These dogs are trained to be exceptionally obedient, and socialized. They are meant to help comfort and create calm for groups people.

They differ from ADA-recognized Service Dogs because they do not provide a specific task for a specific person. A therapy dog provides assistance to a group of people or a non-specified person. Therapy Canines are not protected under the ADA guidelines.

First Responder and Veteran Donation Program

Our First Responder and Veteran Service Canine Program allows us to provide a custom ADA Regulated Service Canine to a First Responder or Military Veteran in need. This program requires the candidates to follow the normal application process for a Service Canine, along with a copy of your DD214 or documentation confirming that you are/were a first responder/veteran and other required documentation specified in application. During the interview process it will be determined if the candidate qualifies for the donation program.
We anticipate being able to provide one (1) Service Canine through this program a year.
